Ilwad (Elle) Elman runs the Elman Peace and Human Rights Center in Mogadishu with her mom, Fartun. Her father was an ardent peace activist in the 1990s, spreading the mantra "Put down the gun, pick up the pen" around Somalia, but was assassinated in 1996. Elle returned to Mogadishu three years ago while the conflict still raged on in the city. She works closely with victims of rape and sexual assault, as well as rehabilitating child soldiers by teaching them vocational skills

I really hate these types of Cosmopolitan westernized Somalis who think NGO talking points and liberal problem solving is what is needed in somalia
al shabab success comes from al shababs understanding of the social political and cultural mechanics of somalia
I really dislike this Freudian approach to the somali problems
somala has become a freak show and western Somalis are the Conductors of the freak show
Mathematically this girl would be better off if, she supported and contributed in the building of state institutions who in turn can uplift more people in 1 month by creating a secure inviorment so that economic activity can take
moa`s collective socialism failed and deng Xiaopings individualism and corporatism succeed
I never believed in in the concept of homo reciprocans rather I am great believer in homo economicus
A homo reciprocans approach creates a dependency environments and destroys the the self-sufficiency of individuals which makes that individual very complacent in improving their of state
Allow gub san francisico , Its simple get it through you big negro skulls, Success is in corporatism and failure is with NGOsm

easier said than done, personally I wouldn't trust any Somali government there are good people in Somalia but will they speak out on the atrocities I think not; when Somalia's previous leaders killed people indiscriminately because of their clan and no one spoke up or stopped the leaders because of clan allegiance it spoke volumes. You learn from your past, don't dwell on it but don't repeat the same mistakes.

Lakin don't forget the people who refused to fly those planes and risked their lives to stand up for what was right.Samatr wrote:BV

They were in the minority, while the majority thought it was ok.
lets not derail this thread, it's good to see people like the young lady in the video still exist.
