There are 30 million Canadians and not a lot of established and processional Black heritage like African-Americans. As a result, Black American pop culture infiltrates and Somalis as an outsized "Black group" in Canada have more pressure to live up to media standards they are inundated with through urban pop culture. They can't help it; it is either "White" identity or Fob identity and average Black Somali males face stigma subscribing to both in urban North America. In Canada, the pressure is greater since all eyes on you whereas in US, sometimes you can just disappear into the pot joining the average mix.

That's my intellectual deduction.

I can understand why that lifestyle would seem appealing to them.

what alot of these kids are missing is discipline from the father.lets face it the fathers failed to do their job and also they chose to live in general with madow low lives who daily comit crimes and that also reflects back to the kids as they grow up.

I don't like this criticism against Somalis in Canada that foreigners make. My brother Menace, be fair please. You know the Canadians are the only solutions to Somalis and their problems.

Somalis in Canada are the most established and successful Somalis in the diaspora. Everyone knows that. That is fact. Somalis in Canada are the ones who will fix Somalia. Not the ones from Europe, not the ones from the Middle East, and especially not the ones in Eastleigh. It is the ones in Canada.

One or two criminals do not represent the hundreds of thousands of Somalis in Canada.

Somali Canadians are the leaders of the Somali diaspora. We lead and we are the light. The rest are the followers and they must follow what we do.
