A Request To The Admins.

I am requesting from the mods to turn off the feature that locks or disables commenting capabilities on old posts. On days when the forum is slow and its members aren’t contributing anything meaningful, it’s good to have a fall back option whereby you could pass the time on digging up old but interesting posts.

People like zingii are known to dig up old threads just to troll and spam the forum (especially Somaliland section). They should be kept locked.

I am making a genuine request that I think as members we could all benefit from. You have seen the kind of topics that are floating in the generals and at that how few they are becoming to be.

fah/zing the whole lock thing came into effect after ppl complaining about years old threads flooding the forums started to protest. So should we listen to members who argue why bring up threads that are no more relevant with participants that are gone long ago, or should we listen to zing.. lol

To accommodate both sides, ppl can create a new thread and hotlink to the old one - problem solved

Waryaa, with all due respect I think it is not good idea to lock old threads. There might be too many different reasons why someone would want to dig out old threads & as long as they're still available on the server I don't see why they can't be accessed as any other thread.

If some people see it as a threat that certain people will dig out specific threads for personal/group/clan attack, still anyone can create a new thread for that specific purpose so I don't think that makes any difference. Plus, as it seems, I think majority of the users would prefer if old threads can be accessed as well.

But if there are some more reasons to why you locked them then good luck.

dont u guys remember when moderators started sending out warnings and banning ppl 4 pumping old threads and all commotions that surrounded it?

advo, editing old comment is misleading and like like erasing/modifying history. Isn't it fair to give ppl about 2 hours to do all the corrections they want?

I agree with zingy, i miss updating my threads in the swedish section as i'm the only one who post in there, can you please unlock all threads in that section warya.I dont want start the same threads about the same topics over and over again.

But seriously, if the whole idea of locking those so-called threads is just not flooding the forums then can't the person(s) whose intention was to flood the forums create new threads? On one hand, people who genuinely wanted to revisit old threads and continue old discussions miss out and on the other, the trolls/thread flooders will create new threads & reach their aim in that wait, no?
