I'll be in DC in couple of weeks. I'll be there for about 8 days. Suggest a few MUST see places. also Do yall celebrate July 1st in DC?

Well obviously check out the white house pentagon capital hill all the monuments. Also be sure to go to the smithsonian museums which are all free.one of the exhibits host a somali section with a aqal somali that cracks me up all the time .The national zoo is pretty chill too. The library of congress is a good spot to check out if you are into all the stuff. I don't know what your arrangements are but you can get a Somali can driver to give you a tour around Washington prett cheap. Also he can hook you up with a discount

Thx sxb. 8 days should be plenty of time to look around. I got someone there who will do the tourin' for me but just wanted to have some ideas of my own when I get there. thx again.

DC is so small, 8 days will give you a good look at the city
Most Somalis live in Virginia.. Some are in Maryland like myself
