what's the best faculty to study in an islamic university?
lets just assume we are dealing with jaamacatul islamiya al madina, out of kuliyatu shariah, usuul diin, hadiith, arabic, usuul dawah and quran, which would you recommend? i was told kuliyatu shariah and hadiith are the best as it combines a lot of general knowledge spanning the other faculties. what do you guys think? i look to hear of your views.

I think only someone who lived & studied there can give you the best advise.
But as an idea, if you're interested in all of them then I think the Koran & the hadith should come first.

yeah, im waiting to hear from the guys that have lived in saudi/other arab countries for a long time and know their stuff to drop their two cents. i was hoping to cover tafsiir, but i dont know if tafsiir is studied within the quran faculty or shariah faculty. if the quran faculty is just qiraa'a then i wouldnt take it. hadiith is good, but musdhalax and cilm al riwaaya is not much in need today although the people who know it are few, a lot of culama have done tafsiil on this and we already have albaanees takhriij on the major books of hadiith. i wanna know what people think of the shariah faculty.

Historically, al azhar was the best, then al zaytuniyah of tunis, then umul quraa.
Now al azhar is not good at arabic language and the professors can't speak arabi they speak egyptian, al zaytunia are dominated by secularists, umul quraa has expelled all the ashcariya and ahlu kalaam naxawists like mohammed cali saabuuni who made it great university.
I will go for kuliyat al aadaab damascus university. Very good at arabic and deen.

If you like hadith go for jaamicat madina or damascus.
Culumaa al shaam are best in hadith like al bani. Just its. Much easier to get the shahaada from madina, damascus is only for though guys.
Arabic syria or lebnon jamacit al carabiya in lebnon.
Sharica and fiqi umudurman or azhar.

sahal, doesnt el azhar require you to study thanawi level within the university first? but i heard it is also very easy to access, no strings attached. what are the admission requirements of ummal quraa? people say you need to be a xaafidh or at least one a strong command of much of the quran? tell me more about el zaytunia brother, ive never heard of it.
3lamaa el shaam wal maurtaaniya are mujayidiin, but i would probably consider them later in life, its convenient to start off somewhere easier.

Umul quraa is good at taafsir, one of its professors was mohammet ali sabuni saa7ib al kitaab safwat al tafaaseer he was the best in tafseer from syria allah yarhamah his other tafseer is mukhtasir ibnu kathir. Mostly the hufaz al quran study in it to be imams.
Al azhar is fouded by the fatimids who ruled egypt, one of them who ruled egypt was women they use to call her malikat al muminin.
Al zaytunia and qayroween were founded by culumaa of andalus they are very ancient.
All you need is to have shahaada from secondery school, you can study arabic for 6 months but its clear your good at al fus7a so you can go to the class directly.
Just finish your school A levels, then study one year mac-diini in the arab world, then it will be considered as your arabic thanawi or if your enough you can go directly with a bit imtixaan that is very easy.
