Any tips ? She is insisting on a divorce and he is refusing out of spite. What can she do ? Any way of dissolving the union ?

islamic marriage or the paper one?

If islamic, many ulumas say nobody can force her into unwanted marriage. Many wadads will perform it (div fatwa) without consulting him if she fulfills some simple conditions. What conditions u may ask - i dnt know either but it happens. I'd say tell her to call different mosques till she gets the yes answer.

Sometimes divorce would be the best solution for couple in trouble. However, stay way bro. ask the sister to contact authority and the nearst mosque.

what about this guys: a lady says to a man "I will divorce my husband for you ONLY if we swear to god u'll marry me after I get rid of him", or the other way around. I know it is unethical and immoral to say yes, but is the man or woman who says yes, i will at fault if the marriage is dissolved?

This happens more than we think.

Hmmm..... Waryaa, what did you promise her ? What have you been doing ? By the way, I had a similar one but it she was planning to jettison her boyfriend of 4 years for me. I said no way.

She should use family ties, the courts and if need be opt for a buy-out.
