Beledweynes’s Ugas Khalif airport is now ready to accommodate both civil and military airlines operations, regional authorities say.
Speaking at a ceremony in Beledweyne where the airport was officially reopened, the area deputy regional security boss Ahmed Osman Abdulle said all commercial and private as well as military aircraft can use the airport.

He said the move is aimed at improving the region’s developments and boosting the public survives in the district.
Initially, the airport was home to Somali and AU troops in the city and only aircrafts serving aid agencies and military were able to use it.

There are a lot of hiiraan development projects on the way from the side of USAID. The meeting for hiraan officials was held in djbouti. The USAID agreed on building laami from janta kundisho to tiyeegloow at baay borders and renewing the hiiraan main road between middle shabeele and galgaduud. Hope the next will be a laami road between hiiraan and lower shabeele. My family are originally from yaaqbariwene. Afgooye and walawen laami needs to link to hiiraan from yaaqbariwene.
they are largening the airport so the goods can land since we don't have a port.
Maxaas is very close to the sea, inshallah mudulood small ports will get bigger in the future to cover the economical needs of hiiraan.

hiraan officials in the govenment and the province are working together,they all attended the djbouti meeting arranged by the USAID.
