GOB & GUN I: The Fall Of The Gaboye Kingdom... Preview
Oral transmission of ones history is victim to errors and revisionist discrimination. Seldom are two consecutive generation given the same HIStory.
This is MyStory...
GOB & GUN is a trilogy of the mysteries of the horn of africa, the tales that do not make sense and need rewriting with new found information.
Part 1: The Fall of the Gaboye Kingdom... this is a preview enjoy.

We were lied to when we were told that the Gaboye are a low cast and inferior.
When they were and still are:
- The most Skilled
- The most knowledgeable (art, music, science, craft, medicen, etc)
It is not possible for the lowest cast of a society to have superiority in skill, culture, arts, science and everything else. Their story has missing links and unexplained key events. How did they develop so differently to their Somali neighbours.
The only explanation specially considering they had a different language is that they were from a neighbouring society that was more advanced in every measure of civilization. An event occurred which ended their civilization and they then migrated to their neighbouring kingdoms of DIR, GELEDI, OROMA and perhabs some to SOCOTRA.
While ports like Zeila, Berbera and Moqadishu were flourishing the Gaboye Ports of Bender qasim(Bossasso), Hafuun, Baargaal and Ely suddenly declined during the height of the slave trade...
During Slavery you were either complicit conduit or a Barrier to the invaders. The Gaboye Kingdom went into decline and suddenly vanished while the Gaboye people dispersed among their neighbours taking with them their skills and centuries of knowledge in engineering, medicen, crafts, arts, music, Magic, foods. etc
An example of knowledge&skill transfer is the fall of Nazi germany... USA and Russia gained all their knowledge and skill... It is my believe a similar migration brought the Gaboye to become outcast among their neighbours...
In our case we marginalised them and to this day keep them as a lower cast because of fear of their superiority in culture to that of the Nomad Shepard. We hold everything they brought as something inferior, had we accepted their knowledge and adopted their skills we would not be the butt of all jokes in the world.

Yahhar, Galgalo (woodcarvers), Hafuun, Garowe, Boon, and Eyl are names of the sub-clans of Gaboye. It is easy to say all ancient town/city names in modern day Puntland are derived from Gaboye sub-clan names. Each sub clan's settlement was named after them and these names remain to this day.
GalGalo was made famous by Sheik Atom who is fighting against corruption and exploitation of his people's natural resources... In the War against terrorism it was easy to label him terrorist and hence the international community turn a blind eye to the genocide committed against the people of Galgalo.
...As i gather more data i'll update you. Feel free to add your history of Gaboye or the Gaboye Kingdom.

What a fake and bogus history that is being thrown around here. I used to hear, "inan-gumeed waa ehlu-naar." Every outcast is coming here with fake history in order to feel good. Fake gods, fake history, fake genocide is all that is being represented by this outcast who is obsessed with PL.

Cool video
I never did understand why Tumaal were discriminated against, since when is having an occupation and not sitting around doing nothing a bad thing?

Grandpa you will have to wait to see...
BlackVelvet: It was fear, the GeelJir mind knew only to protect it's hierarchical social order based on quantity of camels owned. If they had given the blacksmiths or the Doctors or the astrologers or the vast many other skilled people an opportunity as equals they feared loss of their status and wealth. Controlling the exchange rate at which goods are traded determined power and status...
Rabshole: I will think about biyomaal even though their story won't give me enough of a mystery to solve..
2ndtoNone: Indeed It took the Jews 4000 years to find a way to create a state the Gabooye have only been wondering 400years but anything is possible. What is funny is the number of similarities one of the Sub clans of Madhibaan is Eyl... Eyl in Hebrew means 1st born. The Story of sheik Al Konin of the Yibir people who died in Aw-Barkhadle has some similaries to Konan-the-Barbarian
P.s In the North Yibir consider them selves seperate from Gaboye while in southern parts of Somalia they acknowledge relations.

Is it possible this guy somehow heard of the Somali Yibir story and then turned it into a hollywood blockbuster???Conan the Barbarian (also known as Conan the Cimmerian) is a fictional sword and sorcery hero that originated in pulp fiction magazines and has since been adapted to books, comics, several films (including Conan the Barbarian and Conan the Destroyer), television programs (cartoon and live-action), video games, role-playing games and other media. The character was created by writer Robert E. Howard in 1932 via a series of fantasy stories published in Weird Tales magazine.

Sounds like a mix of somali and Hindi.
It is still part of the family of languages in the horn like Somali, Oroma, Maymay, afar, rendile or one could simply calls them all as just dialects.
