Farmaajo and AbdiWeli Should be Stripped of their citizenshi
The two are at risk for violating US citizenship laws:
http://travel.state.gov/law/citizenship ... p_778.html
DISPOSITION OF CASES WHEN ADMINISTRATIVE PREMISE IS INAPPLICABLE
The premise that a person intends to retain U.S. citizenship is not applicable when the individual:
formally renounces U.S. citizenship before a consular officer;
serves in the armed forces of a foreign state engaged in hostilities with the United States;
takes a policy level position in a foreign state;
is convicted of treason; or
performs an act made potentially expatriating by statute accompanied by conduct which is so inconsistent with retention of U.S. citizenship that it compels a conclusion that the individual intended to relinquish U.S. citizenship. (Such cases are very rare.)
Cases in categories 2, 3, 4 and 5 will be developed carefully by U.S. consular officers to ascertain the individual's intent toward U.S. citizenship.

They should renounce their naturalization status and serve Somalia to the fullest. We don't need half-way leaders. By the way what's the percentage of the current TFG officials who hold dual citizenships.

I see, renouncing foreign affiliations should be the top requirement before holding a government office. No rogue officials working for other governments

ahab, in the other thread you were harsh on these two little guys and looked as if u turned a blind eye on the big guys. The real money was taken by others spearheaded by the two sharifs and Gafow. Those folks took like 100 times more than these two guys. I know they want to sanction the president but what about the rest? Gafow is now building a high rise building in Mogadishu allegedly with the e-passport money. It is nicknamed e-passport or e-building.

Waryaa,
Lets start with feasibility in prosecuting cases. The two easiest ones are Farmaajo and Abdiweli who violated US law on corruption, naturalization etc. These two guys are more susceptible (are US citizens, live overseas) and should have known better. Two well educated, US citizens knew the inherent risks about corruption and violating international laws than a functionally illiterate former goat herder and a former dugsi teacher who do not hold foreign passports. They instead decided to be crooks and try to score a quick buck in violation of US law. As you are aware, the long arm of the law will catch up with them. I would love to get a copy of Farmaajo and Abdiweli's tax returns to see if they accounted for their ill gotten gains. A good prosecutor could just build a case on tax evasion while building stronger ones on corruption.
As for Mr. Gaafow, again he holds a Somali passport and his prosecution rests with the next government. Sharif Ahmed and Sharif Sakiin foreign assets will be seized but as long as they remain inside Somalia nothing much will happen to them. Can Abdiweli and Farmaajo afford not to travel overseas ?
Ina Fartaag did a great service for Somalia for exposing corruption. A truly patriotic act.
Republic,
Yep, the D stands for Despicable. Be more like Ina Fartaag who told it as it was and chose Somalinimo over tribal solidarity with a dubious man. Farmaajo duped an entire society as being Mr. Clean when he was just more clever at hiding his corruption.

I respect and admire Fartaag. I believe he is a role model for all lovers of transparency and accountability around the world particularly the developing world and especially Somalia. He is a hero in my book.
What you are doing however is superficial and selective justice with an emphasis on superficial. If you would like a more direct word it is fake. If Farmaajo is guilty of corruption, try him and the matter will speak for itself. But solely basing on an allegation (mind you an accusation) in which the same investigators have labeled as "unsubstantiated" without getting his side nor confirming with the books as the investigators have themselves put on the record really says more about your need and desire to tarnish the man. Were you really that resentful of the man's reputation?
Lol @ violated. The same report you use as a source went to pains to show they are not making an indictment on him as they did for the others but rather merely recording an "allegation" (their word). Sometimes you remind me of a reer baadiye who learned English. Do you even understand how developed justice system works? How does one go from allegation to sentencing? I suppose there isn't such a thing as a trial in the bush justice system.

Something tells me he was never Mr. Clean in your book so you really have no credibility in this matter.

Sheikh Sharif: Writings, deeds, interview, executive orders, passports given, contracts signed, etc.
Sharif Hassan: Writings, deeds, contracts given, deals made, business shares, extraordinary amount of evidence.
Abdiwali Gaas: Writings, edicts given on tax exemption, records from his office, interview.
Faroole: Arms imported, contracts signed, mercenary forces given license, etc.
Farmaajo: Someone said.
I wish anyone in this topic would disagree with any of this. Who is really for justice then?
