Now I understand Somalilanders

Post by Meseret »

I used to be one of the biggest anti-somaliland people, today I was thinking about why dont the somalilanders want to unite with the south when they share everything?: because the south has been burning in the last 20 years, who should somaliland unite with? puntland? jubbaland? the TFG warlords? Galmudug? the habashi controlled Hiiraan state? or maybe Al shabaab? there is nothing called " Somalia" the united Italian somalia who got its indepedence on 1 july 1960 dont exist in reality, southern somalia is owned by the UN Uganda Kenya Ethiopia this people even compete about what foreign power who should rule their land, imagine if Habar Yonose had japanese forces behind them, Habar Awal had chinese forces behind them and Habar Jeclor Brazilian and Gadabursi Korean silly rigth? but thats the reality today in soutthern somalia. Will you move out of your house and into your neighbors home who was living in a burning house with foreign criminals? no! then why should somaliland? yes somaliland is not regonized, but again they enjoy dignity, they pay their own bills not like somalia who is owned like a slave, somalia can not provide somaliland anything, peace, money, unity, some unionists say somalilanders will get their fair share of the power if the unity with us thats just stupid in somalia the subclans from same clan will not even allow each other anything look at marehan-ogaden, the marehans rather wants to be ruled by kenyans than ogaden and we dare to ask why somaliland dont want unity. Sane people unites with other sane people who enjoy dignity and pogress. This is not about being for a united somalia or not but about using your brain and if a sane person loves their life they will not unite with south somalia.

Atleast you've spelled our clan names with capital letters. It's "unite with" not "unity" with.

In somaliland the people elect their leaders in free democratic elections in somalia the UN has choosen their leaders for them since 1991. As I writes this the TFG leaders are in Narobei hotels to meet Hillary Clinton who will tell them about their own nations future after august

Puntland is not a 'mini state' it is the biggest region
the only region that has two oceans red sea and indian ocean
think again before you say such a thing

Puntlanders are the most confused of all Somalis.

They diss Somaliland the most yet everything they do smacks of imitation towards Somaliland, the flag, independence day celebration, I heard they are even planning on having presidential and local elections soon too.

Oh yeah and even Khatuumo and SSC have actually laid down their arms now to support the Somaliland peace initiative offered to them, if you don't believe me see these links; http://somalilandsun.com/index.php/poli ... initiative

Meseret thank you, someone who actually uses their common sense when thinking about it. Its strange people insult and be-little Somaliland, but if Somaliland was to re-unite with the South it would sacrifice much much much more than every other party. It wll sacrifice its peace, development, future and society for a Greater Somalia that people just pay lip service to. The fact is there are no genuine Somali leaders calling for Greater Somalia and nobody even stands for it anymore, maybe the people of old did but nowadays instead people just want to go after their own interests.

Not to mention the same people that call for brotherhood also wish more than anything to see Somaliland up in flames. It works both ways as Somalilanders we need to accept our fellow brothers and sisters from the South and try and help them however way we can. We share everything, we are just politically distinct.

I hope the future brings a prosperous and strong Somalia and Somaliland, side by side as 2 brotherly states. :som:  :sland:

Somalia is like a drug addict attempting to recover with the wrong method while begging their neighbour(Somaliland) to join them in being a junkie lol. Misery loves company.

we do not imitate Somaliland
we would have declared independence the first day Puntland was established we did not but instead claim a state in somalia
Somalia is now federal every region can have their flag etc...
