These two are exemplary role models for the qurbajoog born kids. Both express an interest in their Somalinimo and value it. They strive to be Somali and learn more about their ancestral homeland. I salute these two young men Adeeryal, please try to share with us why you are interested in your parent's homeland and culture. What can be done to spark similar interest among those youngins born in the West ? What do you think of those who were born in Somalia but try too hard to be Native Westerners and shy away from Somalinimo ?

I appreciate the shoutout brother. The reasons are many but things that come to mind are

A) Old fasion, Somali ass whoppings at home.
B) Having a Mom with a old fasioned Somali tounge, who will not care about that feelings crap, but will take shots at You in ways that only the somali language will alow
C) Malawax, shah for quraac, and macawis for pajamas
D)Constant stream of guests from Somalia/Kenya that come and stay in Your house for a couple months, while they are processing their sharci in DC
E) Constant stream of Somali films, television series at home like Cilmi iyo Caado.

Hahahaaa I didnt get that so much, both my parents being the same clan, but I feel your pain! I remember back in the day when my parents cared about Somali politics, these days its all about Lubnaan this and Filistiin that. Funny how much has changed in 2 decades.
