Salafists desecrate the grave of Sidi Ahmad Zarruq

Subhanallah is this Islam, trampelling over someones grave and digging out their bones?
On Sunday 26th August 2012 The Salafis came at night 3 AM while people were sleeping and dug out the blessed resting place of Sidi Ahmad Zaruq Alayhi Rahma.
It happened in Libya.

Who was Ahmad Zarruq?

He took the name 'Zarruq' (meaning 'blue') and he studied the traditional Islamic sciences such as jurisprudence, Arabic, traditions of the Prophet and wrote extensively on a number of subjects. His most famous works are first of al his Qawa’id al-Tasawwuf (The Principles of Sufism), his commentaries on Maliki jurisprudence and his commentary upon the Hikam of ibn 'Ata Allah.
He travelled East to the Hijaz and to Egypt before taking up residence in Misrata, Libya where he died in 899 (1493)
His silsilah connecting him to the shaadhiliyyah goes as follows:
Ahmad Az-Zarruq from Yahya Al-Qaadiri and Ahmad Al-Hadrami from ‘Ali ibn Al Wafaa’ from Muhammad ibn Al-Wafaa’ from Daawud Al-Baakhili from Ibn ‘Ataa’ illah Al-Iskandari from Abul-’Abbas Al-Mursi from Abul Hasan Ash-Shadhili from Abdus-Salaam ibn Mashish from Abdur-Rahmaan ibn ‘Attaar from Shu’ayb Abu-Madyan as well as Taqiyud-Deen Al-Fuqayyir…all the way to ‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib. He also has a chain that leads to the great Hanbali Sufi, Abdul-Qaadir Al-Jilaani that goes through his Shaykh Ahmad Al-Hadrami.

May Allah shed His Abundant Mercy and Light Upon Shaykh Ahmad Az-Zarruq. Ameen!

this amongst other desecrations of pious visitation is a day of sorrow for the Muslim ummah. It is beyond human logic to destroy a grave nevermind a saints maqam.

Crazy people. But at the end of the day, these tombs become shrines. Those Salafis should have not done that but also in the future, there shouldn't be people's graves inside mosques or have people's graves with big marked decorative tombstones that attract people to do crazy things. People will make it a pilgrimage.

its not really worshipping but some times some people would go to graves of their dead relatives or their heroes and say "oh ahmed, oh mariam, oh yusuf, help me in my difficult times". thats haram. you only seek help from god, not dead people.

i know the vast majority of people who visit graves go there for history and memory and not to worship or ask for help when they should be asking god but you cant say no one worships graves. some people actually do. well not praying to them by bowing down but looking up to them so much that they go and ask them help, adoring them to the point of what looks like to be worship.

I recognise the faults in sufis but tassawuf itself is a branch of knowledge that is based on spiritual practices which all fall into the guidelines of sharia, whatever a self-proclaimed sufi does does not equal to what all sufis do, tassawuf is not a sect its a essentially a part of the deen that should be looked up upon not down, as for salafists, what happened with the bodies of these scholars same thing happened in jannatul baqi, same thing happened with the grave of the prophets mother, wife, uncle and it was carried out by salafists, they think the same and all agree on these unacceptable crimes .

I don't condone salafi barbarism but neither do I sanction the worshipping of graves. It is disposable and is not in line with our faith. Having said that, I must say that something must be done about these random acts of vandalism by this rabid community.

This Sheekh is not worshipped thats ghe f-king problem with you ignorant people, wallahi 4 days ago i doubted my stance on the salafists, but now im pretty sure my approach to these khawaarij is valid. Sheekh Ahmad Zarruq was a great scholar , he mastered the sharia, hadith and tassawuf . sunni's today admire his work and they visit his tomb to pay respects. This is the problem with you salafists, you act as if your the guardians of the deen , the prophet already layed the foundation stone of sufis by reassuring his ummah that he is not at all afraid of us commiting shirk, yet this is what 99% of salafi da3wah is. They even destroyed the books and hand written manuscripts of Imam Malik, may thecurse of Allah be upon these dogs . They think they have divine right to do whatever they want against sunnis and property of sunnis. They need to be hit back eye for an eye where it pains the most and teach them that their thugish attempt against ahlus sunnah wont go left unresponded. We should gather protests and even riot against wahhabi establishments and burn it down llike masjid as dirar, wherever they preach this legality of bombing and destroying the graves, whatever part of the world the wahabis are in. The problem with sunnis is the fact that we havent excuted what the prophet(peace be on him) said should be done against the khawarij, which was to kill them as ad and thamud were killed and that those killing them are rewarded for it. This is the mentality we should be having. Now that the dictators are gone, the wahhabis cannot export their crap hiding behind revolutionery propoganda and the confrontation with Sunnis would become face to face.
