bill nye, the popular scientist who captured the intrigue of millions of americans recently passed away. his LAST video recorded him saying this, wholly supporting the theory of evolution

what are yall's thoughts on this? after avid web research, i found that islam and evolution aren't completely incompatible. but there is a section of muslims who reject it.

Evolution is only about man coming from apes but it covers wide range of knowledge.

Actually Humans have been under going under evolution for a sometime.

a sophisticated scholar like Green, would not outright deny evolution, but would rather say it was "Gods way" of creating all of the diversity of life that we have today.

Like Daadi said Evolution is a broad subject. Are we talking about the monkeyman theory? If so then a Muslim can not believe in such travesty as God tells us the way man was created in the Quran.

Furthermore saying that humans had to go through different stages before aquiring our current form is putting a limit on Allah's powers.

of course evoltuion covers a wide range of topics. it's not just the monkeyman theory. for example the human mind is one sub-category of evolution, and has done much growth for thousands of years, that is damn near-unrefutable. my iq is ten times that of a caveman.

maybe islam outright rejects the monkeyman theory, but does that mean it rejects the theory that humans and monkeys come from the same ancestor, not necessarily that humans came from monkeys? if so, then things get really complicated because i like to make the analogy that camels, llamas, and alpacas share a common ancestor. now that is really difficult to refute, whether from a scientific or theistic standpoint.

The Qur'an should not be read upon and reduced to text, every single sentence in the Qur'an can actually take years to de-bunk. As for evolution, How would the story of Adam And Eve play in? as if they were just monkeys and we all come from monkeys?

Darwin only had a theory, and it was not a fact, i mean he quoted that the negroes were a product of human and chimpanzee's, he had no theological thought and was 100% incorrect in his analyis's.

Humanity is seperate from Animals, we are the viceregents of the earth.

Don't let the whiteman tell you where you come from, they know little then what you know.

now i really did try not to get embroiled in religious argument, but AbuukarSubeer leaves me choice.
As for evolution, How would the story of Adam And Eve play in? as if they were just monkeys and we all come from monkeys?
this is the problem when you use religion as an axiom of truth. when you encounter evidence that contradicts your own axiom, you throw out the evidence rather than question the "truth" you have unwittingly decided for yourself.

case point, if the sky is blue, but a religious book says it green, will you still ask "how does this play in..?". i hope not.

as for evolution being a theory......well the fact the earth rotates around the sun is a theory (heliocentric theory). electromagnetism is a theory, but we know its true by the simple fact you are using a computer. any theory with enough supporting evidence becomes a fact, simple as that really.

Blackstar are you a evolutionist?, Evolution in a sense that Mankind has become smaller in size aswell as Animals then i do believe in it in that sense, but for us to come from oraguntaungs and chimps is ridiculous.

"Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind."

Science is all over the Qur'an, but Science rejects the existance of a powerful being and that we are in this World for a reason, not for an accident.

really you gonna put words into his mouth?

He clearly states ''Do we believe that humanbeings along with monkeys descended from a common primate? NO!''

Image did you expect him to say "yes we came from apes"?

he clearly said he based his answer on the fact religion told him man came from adam and eve.

the guy accepted evolution as a "plausible" and "very powerful" theory but rejects its foremost conclusion that we came from apes, he just didn't believe that part because it contradicted his religion.

Bill Nye is still alive. Those were just rumors.

Chimps and Humans share 96% of the same DNA. The number of genetic differences between chimps and humans is 10x smaller than mice and rats.

Up to you on how you take this.

Evolution where species adapt and evolve to their environments
Evolution where species completely transform into a whole new other species
Micro evolution is a fact and observable and Islam is completely at ease with it
Macro evolution where species mutate .i.e an ape into man.Is a whole heap of crap and they can keep searching for "The missing link"
