I Don't Get it!!!!
Who is has more population; the Digil/Mirifle or Isaaq? I really don't understand the 4.5 formula because I believe that there are more Isaaqs than Digil/Mirifle in Somalia. Hargaisa which has over 80% Isaaq has more population than Baydhabo, Diinsoor, Buurhakaba, and all the other DM areas.
In my view, Isaaq, Daarood, and Hawiye should get the three top spots.

Re: I Don't Get it!!!!
Although it is obvsiouly true that Isaaq is larger than D&M. The 4.5 was created in Djibouti Arta conference to try and stain our name. Who benefits from 4.5?
Well it is the 7% Dir. But because Isaaq isn't part of Somalia we really don't care about the seats in the south. During proper Somalia governments
there was a Isaaq speaker of parliament and also a Isaaq prime minister later on, Dir and D&M were nowhere to be seen. If the 4.5 is abolished and instead
population is used the clan that will be effected the most will be Dir as they are the smallest of the 5 main groups.

Re: I Don't Get it!!!!
If Isaaq cared, it would be their fault and all blame goes to them for allowing it to happen
Re: I Don't Get it!!!!
If Isaac wasn't such a flip floper I honestly think they would've stood a chance in the dirty south.
Ismaaciil Cigaal Bulaale(isaaq)
Adaa Dir iyo Daarood dhex dhigay dab iyo baaruude
Dacar gelisey reerihii ahaa ul iyo diirkeede
Mugga haatan dirir uumiyuhu waa is dilayaaye
Maxamuud Dheeg (Isaaq)
Dir iyo Irir baanu nahay labada daamoode
Dabatada faraha dheer leh iyo Diini iyo Boontu
Meeshay kasoo dalabsadeen yeyga degi wayday.

Digil iyo Mirifle lives from Afgooye to Lower Jubba and today you can find them in Galkacyo, Boosaaso all the way to Hargeysa. They are not small clan by any stretch of the imagination, if I were to guess since that's what we are doing here, I would say that they are easily the largest clan in Somalia.
Re: I Don't Get it!!!!
TheblueNwhite it is true they are not a small clan as the CIA clan groupings population shows they are 20% about the same as Darood. But not the
largest unless they have adopted many clans recently.

Re: I Don't Get it!!!!
What I never got was how Hawiye surrendered their numerical superiority to get the same share as Darood, Digil Mirifle and Dir. It should have been 2:1:1:1:0.25
But that is what happens when Hawiye undoes Sacad numerical policy.

Somalia's citizens need to overcome their natural tendency to view things from a clannish prism. Elect/Select people who you think are qualified.
Somaliland has shown that clan does not determine how high you can go in public office. Every single citizen of Somaliland has a chance at the highest political office.
Soon Somalia will follow in the footsteps of Somaliland in electing their leaders based on their ideas/political party as opposed to their clan.
