Strong Mogadishu-based lobby to try to make Farmajo PM

Post by The`Republic »

My God this city must love this guy. Farmaajo was the first guy the new President met and reportedly asked him to stay in Somalia and contribute to the new peace and development. I am told by someone close to Farmaajo that even if he lost, Farmaajo had decided to stay in Somalia and build and run his Tayo party inside Somalia.

Now after Dr Mohamud Doodishe has already been given the PM post and they are just waiting for clearance from "donor" countries, and despite Farmaajo does not want to become Prime Minister, there is a strong Mogadishu-based lobby (I am talking about intellectuals and civil society leaders---like President Hassan was before being elected) that wants him nominated as PM.

We will see how this spans out.

Just give it up son, Farmaajo lost the election in a shameful manner that shocked all Somalis. Let the guy reinforce his party and run again in 4 years time inshallah.

Although you claim that another man will become PM you keep hoping that Farmaajo will be given the position. :snoop: Cut.It.Out. He may be loved by many Somalis however those in 'positions of power' (MPs and so on) have clearly shown that they do not want him in the new government.

I'm only trying to help you from hurting yourself again :steviej: .

If Hassan Shiikh wants a Marexan PM, he is better of naming a Hawiye to the post. Farmaajo was a lesson learned and had he stayed on the job I'm sure Hawiye wishes (Puntland destruction) would have been fulfilled.

The steam definitely has overfilled in Farmaajo's corner as the person people are most recommending as Prime Minister to the new president. Will it sway the consensus on the President's inner circle? We will see soon

Advo and Khalif :umad:

I think the roll Farmaajo played while he was prime minister says a lot about your lot, the go to clan when bitter Hawiye politicians are reportedly on the move to sideline Puntland. Here I think it is important to point out that Farole gained a practical success with the Galkayo agreement; the T.F.G. do to bitter Hawiye politicians has proven to be too weak and divided to be a genuine negotiating partner.

Of course people like Farmaajo have no problem playing the poppet role in the ongoing power struggle between them and Puntland. Many have plotted against the state yet here it stil stands as a "model for the Federal system in Somalia. This much I can tell you, Puntland sure has outlasted and outshined the competition. :win:
