New direction, if it materializes

The new president's subclan have had many meetings among themselves since the election day. Outcome: let's give the guy some space - he is no longer our boy but a somali boy! They want to distance themselves away from him as far as possible. They took an an oath not to interfere with his work in any way, including asking favors, defending his policies, work for him, etc. They want to start a new direction from our traditional "president/tribal leader" system. He, the president is cool with it. According to election insiders, unlike many candidates, he was not surrounded by his relatives/clansmen during the campaign period.

That's a new tradition for Somali politics & if it stays like that for the long run he'll probably be a role model for the ones that will come after him. This 'our man in the top position' & asking for favors/supporting policies no matter how crooked & injustice they are is what crippled us in the first place.

Abakar, :?:

He was never their candidate to begin with, Sheikh Sharif was and Hassan Sheikh is Party first, clan second. He is what most Somali clansmen would love to hate but he is also where Somali politics needs to head.

To give credit where credit is due, Abgal have among the least faan out of all the Somalis, and they are politically more mature than a lot. I was shocked to see so many Abgal families in my state diehard haters of Shariif, when many Somalis would back their man no matter what out of qabiil. Then You look at how so many of them were diehard backers of Farmaajo, while You don't see them immedietely lining up behind this new guy it shows that many of them are not all about clan, clan clan. Again credit where credit is due

Horta, wasn't the Madarkicis Imaam iyo isimaha beesha Mudulood at Sharif's event the night before the election? He is Abgal, but so what? Which candidate honestly had "support" from their respective elders? Though I commend this move from abgal, if I let myself be critical, could this be a saving face move? Distancing themselves from his decision?

Maybe we are the problem not him, this guy was no elected by his clan or any other clan but was by backed by a movement of change and hope. His tribe or clan didn't even know that he was standing.

What is more cant be our selves with out being associated with qabiil. Why is clan is having meeting and saying we will give him space, that it self is showing how sick we r though they meant it good.
