Can I lie on my resume?

Post by Areesa »

Ok I know I said I won't be back for a week, but I really need your help. I'm applying for corporate office. And I want my resume to be professional. Can I lie on my resume, will they actually call my references?

Please Help!

I lied on my resume but didn't write the references I just wrote at the bottom "reference upon request" got a job interview and I did so well in my interview they didn't even ask for any reference.

I know loads of people who lied on their resume but if you get caught it could be some serious business (so I heard)

Wallahi enough ppl do!!!!!!!!!!!
Sometimes they'll do reference check,but 75% of the times,they don't.
Just to be on the safe side I wouldn't.

people in the UK have been prosecuted for fraud, for submitting false CVs.
pull the old voluntary work routine. You can say you worked in any capacity/position and it will be nigh-on impossible to be caught out.

I never lied on my resume that is why it is hard to get jobs.

If you sure they are going to hire you. Then don;t need to tell lies. But if you have doubt, tell them as much umberrella as you like it.

Some bloke on Apprentice lied on his.. They did a background check on him in the interview stage (final 2 weeks of the show) and they found out he lied about having a university degree.. It turned out he dropped out of uni in the first couple of weeks into his course.
Surprisingly he talked himself out of the 'mistake' and he landed the 100k job!
