I don't know why I didn't remember this but I was speaking with my pops today about the Jannay Cabdalle shooting by the Kenyan soldiers and the drastic changes bringing Marehan herdsman to be at a "ceel" in Jannay Cabdalle when he was like "remember in 2008 when we were in Africa and there was a drought and we were told 10,000 Marehan families were moving to Gedo/Jubooyinka from around Balanbale" and I remembered exactly this news. We were having lunch with a Sade chief called Qamaan at Jucfo hotel when he got called from Balanbale saying more money needs to be sent to help these folks move out to Jubooyinka.
These Marehans you here being at Jannay Cabdalle and Orgiyoow and trying to build wells near Af-madoow are literally the latest Sade pioneers who have stretched and are indeed stretching the boundary of Marehan and making a very direct connection between as south as Kismaayo and as north as Dollow.
They are still moving on and I would argue make it a direct political goal to move the entire Marehan from Galgaduud/Mudug and even the near Ethiopian countryside. Maybe leave a simple relic at Caabudwaaq town, but there is nothing in that land---no economic viability, no natural resources, no rivers, permemnant drought, harsh landscape. What a trade off that the Marehan have to relocate to Jubooyinka. A large number of them have already done in the last 20 years. This will be the last defining effect of the civil war. We will be an overwhelming majority and of a pioneering nature and we will have presence to some extent in every district in Jubbaland, injecting fresh pioneering mindset.
Remove the rest to Jubbaland.
