Do you try to pray your 5 daily prayers in the mosque?

Post by grandpakhalif »

This is mostly for the men, have you ever prayed 5 times a day everyday in the masjid in congregation? It is very important and I beleive the reasons why the ummah is so weak is because we don't spend enough time at the mosque for the fardh prayers. If you pray at the fajr time, you will see only 7-8 people praying at best in the masjid and they are mostly elders.

It is very sad :(

The whole world is a masjid, I pray most of my salah's at home, especially when your masjid is far and the streets are unsafe for a vunreble 17 yr old among gangs. There is no dambi if you pray at home, praying at home is praying in safety, especially in cities in the west, however if i'm in sharjah, or hargeisa i head out to the mosque 5 times because over there everyones muslim and you can sleep on the street and your wallet will not be stolen.

do not be jahil, indeed praying at the mosque is 27 times better than praying at home. Are you a woman? dont you know praying at the masjid is a religious obligation? i try my best to pray at the masjid everyday atleast twice.

No excuse brother, indeed every step you take to the masjid is counted as ajr for you! oh how I wish my masjid was far so I can gain more ajar

assalamu alaikum akhi,

I was wondering during salat times does the police close the shops in Qatar? Or have they strayed from the path of islam.

I did for a while and then subxanallah I fell back into my laziness - that's the only thing stopping me even though praying in the Masjid is waajib for men. :|

i pray at the mosque when i can, but remember i worship Allah as if i see him , meaning i don't confine my mind capacity to confine my belief of salah to be only prayed at mosque , but as every clean place as place for prayer. Besides, the prophet said there will be a time where wordly affairs would be discussed in the khutbah of the masjidin, today the sheikhs are talking about politics and syria and use it as their khutbah speech, the prophet also said to avoid those who do that.

'when someone begins talking about worldly affairs in the mosque, the angels say to him: “O friend of Allah! Be quiet!” and if he talks again, they say: “Oh enemy of Allah! Be quiet!” and if he again starts talking, they say: “Allah's curse be upon you! Hold your tongue!”

Al-Haakim reported in al-Mustadrak (4/359) that Anas ibn Maalik (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘There will come a time when people will sit in circles in the mosques and they will have no concern except this world. Allaah has no need of them so do not sit with them.’” This is a saheeh hadeeth even though al-Bukhaari and Muslim did not narrate it. Al-Dhahabi said in al-Talkhees that it is saheeh

as far as i am concerned today in the west over 65% of the khutbahs are about fundraisings , wars, politics and never about aakhira, science of the deen, events of the future etc.., so don't bring the rhetoric that the best muslim is the one who goes to the mosque and prays 5 times, for he can be the worse and you don't know that because of his beard and his khamiis! allahu a3lam.
