Puntland has its own internal issues. The coastal zone is defacto independent from Garowe. Bosaaso is under Al Itixad. The Leelkase were slaughtered in Galkacyo by the Faroole's men. The Cumar Maxmud blood fueds are on going in Galkacyo with the Rer HIrsi getting clobbered by the Rer Mahad. Faroole's illegal extension of his term has caused political uneasiness.

The Saleban have 4 fronts they are fighting: Dir, Sacad, Marexan, and Cayr. They are still trying to console the Shabab/ASWJ/Al Shabab into Ximin and Xeeb. Cadado is the only city you can find all four of these parties living together but as the AS begin to shrink, the X&X have to decide which side are they on. The piracy which was funding the Saleban largesse has dried up and this will force them to sue for peace.

I realize Puntland has internal issues but what should concern you more is their foreign policy, pay attention old man, Puntland is making strong regional alliances as a measure to neutralize the security/economic threat they face in Gaalkacyo emanating primarily from Beesha Sacad. History repeats it self, remember how first it was Abgaal who were partnered up with to thwart HG influence in Mogadishu, now HG political elites are being decapitated in their own region at the hands of Saleebans.

The biggest threat to MJ is not from the Sacad. They are way to busy facing each other off. PL has already ceded Sool and Sanaag.

As for Sacad and Hawiye, the same can be said for Marexan who invested massive resources for Daroodismo only to be abandoned by the same Darood in 1991. Today, even the nominaton of a MArehan has faced the most opposition from other Daroods not Hawiye.

So saxiib, Sacad are in a good position. We avoided siding with the ICU which would have decimated our hard won gains in Galmudug and saved our people from the 4 year conflict. We have recovered economically and are doing well.

Today, it is the Marehan who are in the biggest dilemma: losing Kismayo, a city they stole with the Cayr in the JVA. There is no cosensus on whether Marehan should stick with Shabab or quit while ahead. So bro, Sacad are living the quiet life and accumulating resources for 2016.
