Re: Mogadishu boom stirs concern
Good neighborhoods need to be built in good areas. No point building a great house When Your view is people suffering, that would just ruin Your stay and vacation. Like that huge house going for 1 million next to a IDP camp who the heck would wanna live there?

And that's at a "bad area"X.Playa wrote:1 million house?? what the hell, are you serious.
Xamar property prices are ridiculous. Huge demand and little supply. Reminds me of the Boston housing market.

War inflation and petty speculators running a con job.
The winners: People who sell properties at the current rate.
The losers: People buying now and hoping to sell later.
The more secure Somalia becomes, the more accessible the entire city and country becomes, the decrease in inflation which means property will be worth less.

dude, i thought you were an expertX.Playa wrote:1 million house?? what the hell, are you serious.
My father went back to Xamar for the first time in 30 years last December and he's been there the past couple months. He and his siblings inherited property from my grandfather and one of those properties he has renovated back (the former Egyptian Embassy) and people want to give him $2 million to sell but he doesn't want to sell but rather rent out on contract.
Its tempting to cash out now though because the bubble will burst and you can buy land more cheaply later on

That house is in Medina which makes it one of the safest locations to live in. I have properties in areas where the security is still fragile and so I am taking a wait and see approach. I did manage to visit one deep in North Mogadishu last fall but the whole area was deserted albeit for a Burundian contingent who were trigger happy. One things stabilize, I will rehabilitate the properties and cash out to buy a property in the neighborhoods my qabiil live.

Invisible,
I have a small plot near Jidka Sodonka in Hawlwadaag and got an offer for $100,000. I ain't going to sell it as I hope to build on it once I cash out on other ones located deep in nonHG areas.

Hilowle,
Yeah, right ? Sorry saxiib, I am not going to live among Abgaal. It was shocking to final venture deep into Kaaran last fall and see the home I haven't laid eyes on for 2 decades.
