Mayor Jiciir Forced to Refunds More than $3,360,000M

The Mayor of Hargeisa has today refunded more than 3,360,000 Million Dollars take he took from local businessmen in exchange for a prime piece of land owned by the government of Somaliland.

Traders who earlier today gathered Mayoral parlor claimed that they had each paid the amount of $2100 each in exchange of obtaining a commercial slot in a proposed market place to be built by Hargeisa Municipality in a land which is located near the Gobinimo Market.

The businessmen numbering more than 160 have for the whole of last week camped outside the Hargeisa Municipality Headquarters’ demanding the Mayor of Hargeisa Hussein Mahmoud Jiciir to refund the money he took from them after President Silanyo issued a decree prohibiting the sale of government property were refunded their money after Mayor Jiciir issued them each with cheque’s.

President Silanyo Issued a Presidential Decree banning the sale of Government property, after landless squatters who were earlier evicted by the government from the purported piece of land discovered plans by the Mayor to allocated the land to a clique of businessmen hence prompting the landless squatters block the Mayor from sub dividing the land the move results to scuffles.

Most Of the trader’s hopes to acquire a commercial slot at the controversial site were dashed by the presidential decree; we managed to talk to some of traders who told us that the Mayor Jiciir had refunded their money a move many traders welcomed.
