What Dark Ages? .There was none!

The myth that the whole world underwent the 'dark ages' had permeated western history for a long time and in fact was proven to have only been experienced in and confined to Europe in sheer contrast to the Muslim world at the time,this period also being known as 'the golden age of Islam''. Development did not start with the Greeks,then stop for centuries and then magically pick up again in Europe as the myth said.No, in that period Muslim scholars contributed modern science, developments and inventions that,in turn, allowed Europe to rise 500 years after the decline of the Islamic Empire.

what would the Arabs amidst the height of Islamic civilization feel when looking back on the age of Jahiliyyah? and today in modernity: European enlightenment and advances cast over every corner of the globe...and yet when it look back on its own Dark age, what is the feeling?..

i suppose the true test would be in the comparison of both respective predecessors..their norms customs preservation etc.

it doesn't matter because today the Islamic world is the most backward, destitute pathetic place when it comes to progress and development. for go sakes somalia doesn't even have one multi lane highway. we need to embrace a new way of thinking and reform ourselves because we are very pathetic compared to the people of the West!

Alpha, watched them all before and read a couple books on this. What's funny is, I remember I was once in this plant physiology class on history of medicinal plants lecture, and the guy was rambling on about the different continents,scientists,regions,empires that invented/developed so and so and where such and such medicine came from etc. He completely overlooked Muslim history and even mentioned Jews/Israel lol. Didn't say anything because I never thought he would deliberately misinform, though he did give me funny looks.
