Have you been asked to become a minister for Sacad, or influential positions?
Your educated, and are connected on the ground, so it only seems reasonable for people to push your name up. I know that you value your life and don't want to risk it with such exposure, but then again you do your time and come out with your "hazard pay".
My principals and morals will not allow me to partake in such destructive and useless governments. Plus I am liked by many Somalis from different walks of life: ikhwans, suufis, warlords, political tourists, PLers, SLers, NFDers, ONLFers, Kilinka5ad, Djiboutians.
Nor do I want to steal from the most desperate people to fill my coffers only for my kids to be corrupted and calamity to befall them. I have seen the calamities that have befallen those who stole from the poor and ain't nothing worse than seeing your money destroy your family. Not to mention, my aabe's adeer Abdullahi Isse Maxamud was a role model to me and saw that even having sacrificed so much to ensure Somalia achieved independence only to die stateless after the Somali government refused to renew his Somali passport. In US terms, it would be George Washington dying in exile stateless.
In the end, I would rather focus on positive activities: private sector and charitable activities.
