Trying to plan a month long trip to hargeisa in June or July inshallah. How much money will I need for a month? I'm visiting one family member so I won't need much money to give to relatives, i just need enough for my own personal expenses. Assuming lodging is provided, how much will a month cost plus a roundtrip plane ticket from the west?

@ wont need to give out much money. Is this the first time your going back to Africa? Doesn't matter if you staying with 1 relative or 100 relatives, people from all walks of life will come to you at the place you are staying at and ask you for money. They will come to the room you are sleeping in at 5 am and sit on your bed waiting for you to wake up and then flip out their hand asking for donations. From your father's 3rd grade classmate to your grandfather's old neighbor, not 1 person from your dad or mom's immediate subclan family will not hear of your arrival to the city.
Your spending will not come from food or transportation in the city or whatever. Most of your money will be spent on giving it away.
You need to take at least $1500 with you in cash, not including your flight and not including your hotel stays/food at Dubai or Addis when going to or leaving your vacation. This is if you are going solo. If not, and you are going with family, the older folk will take care of the money giving.

Well one cannot be asked to bring money he/she doesn't have. If you have plenty of money to throw around, sure go ahead and help out few poor near and distant relatives, if however you are broke ass student who just wants to go home after spending long and grueling years in the West, then It's whatever you can afford.
Live within your means, sxb. Don't bankrupt yourself.

If you have a house in Somaliland than it will be much cheaper much of the costs will go to drinks food petrol shaah here shaah there and polishing ur shoes believe u need it also those who try to hussle you. was this summer in Hargeysa almost 2 months and a few weeks in UAE. i spend around 2100 USD ticket not included. some of the money will also go to trips outside Hargeysa if you want to go to berbera and have no family in berbera staying at a hotel or borama or burco i also spend a week in jigjiga. But i was lucky my uncle has a house there and i stayed at his place he and his wife. I had the most nicest breakfast ever in Jigjiga. In Hargeysa if you wanna go party and take chicks out for diner that will cost something 2 For instance i went to 3 parties in Hargeysa each one cost 20 dollars also the guys at the traffic spots u need to sponsor them they do an awesome job every day. I give them few dollars every time i see them. And than you have family and others mostly second cousins who want 50 dollars or 100 dollars when ur coming and when ur leaving

Aren't you a diseased Faqash? I have seen you hating on Hargeysa, Somaliland a couple of times in this forum. Stick to your villages. Homeless Dooros make me laugh with their contradictions.

Typical miraqaan eydoor thinking everyone who is anti bermuda is darood! What constitutes isaq? Are you isaq by blood or are you isaq by political affiliation? You can be anti neverland and still be reer hargaysa.

Khalid thats not true. If he was born and raised in the west it is possible that he hasnt interacted enough with somalians much less isaq. Are you telling me every isaq has to know how much it will cost to spend sometime in hargaya?

90% of the isaaq from America and Europe atleast went 2 or 3 times back to Somaliland since 1991.
No isaaq will ask about the info and costs of the biggest isaaq city he should already knew that he is most likely some one outside from Somaliland.
