Slavery's last stronghold: Mauritania

Post by waryaa »

I wonder how many somalis have vanished in this country!
Her baby girl, barely old enough to crawl, had been left outdoors to die.

The usually stoic mother — whose jet-black eyes and cardboard hands carry decades of sadness — wept when she saw her child’s lifeless face, eyes open and covered in ants, resting in the orange sands of the Mauritanian desert. The master who raped Moulkheir to produce the child wanted to punish his slave. He told her she would work faster without the child on her back.
MAURITANIA BY THE NUMBERS

Enslaved population: 340,000 to 680,000
Year slavery was abolished: 1981

Convictions against slave owners: One
very disturbing:

Why would Somalis go to Mauritania? However I've heard that some Somali women have been kidnapped while on Tahriib through Sudan on their way to Libya. The Blick Sudanese Bantus ayaa afduubay..

It is long history...

My last video blog was discussed very very accurately...

A black man has unique name...
A trained monkey
That means they only fellow what the white man showed them..

For example, the black man hottest car for 2012 is the car his masters used to drive 1944..
Image
They are hungry to imitate what they masters used to or are doing now...

It is a sad predicament but the part which talks about the young lad who read books and became a anti-slavery stalwart who freed his slave when he was 16 is very interesting. I will finish reading it later on.

I don't think Mauitania has any Somalis living their at this present time, Fulanese iyo Wolof dad la yidhaado ayaa dagaan and they out number the Berbers/Arabs who run the country, Definitely a sad circumstance for those who live in a society where slavey is seen has a norm

I`d be a little sceptical if I were you. There was a similar story about slavery in sudan which turned out, surprise surprise, false.

I thought it was one of the routes to Arabia/Europe.

abakar, i didn't reach that part yet. I read only what I posted here.

This is what I dnt understand:
The master who raped Moulkheir to produce the child wanted to punish his slave. He told her she would work faster without the child on her back.
This mofo killed his daughter - even animals don't do that!

My secular friend that´s bullshit. The reason they tell these kind of fairy tales is to damage the name of islam. Don´t get me wrong there still may be slavery in Mauritania, but i dont think they kill their daughters. It´s another anti-islam propaganda myth.

xiinow, she could be Muslim too. Why is outlawing slavery an issue in this country? The practice must be there...

Yeah it´s dambi in islam to ensalve other muslims. But dont blame the minority arab enslavers, blame the majority black people who are willing to accept to be ensalved in 2012 !
