It will be my earnest attempt to bring to the public that the promises of the government had never met their objectives, thus the country runs the risk of not having a proper election management body. It is really funny how this government acts so blindly with the press release quoting that they have fulfilled 70 percent of their campaign promises. The country is sinking into corruption, injustice and a population at the forge of explosion with frustrations and social injustice.
Somaliland fragile democracy suffers impunity, indifference to corruption tribalism since Kulmiye has been in power. The country is plunged into an unlimited misuse of public funds and abuse of power in which results to the public amazement to the lack of leadership the Silanyo administration has shown.
There is a huge uncontested mounting anger that keeps on growing with in the Somaliland population towards the government incompetence way of ruling which is devastating by ignoring the people demands of a better way of governance and the deaf ears the government is showing.
The prove is that more than two thousand youth graduated from Somaliland Universities, and that unfortunately had no other alternative than risking their so valuable lives than fleeing their beloved country.
Starting from August 2012 since today more than a thousand graduates went to Libya to clandestinely cross the Mediterranean sea in search for a better future in which they saw that couldn’t be found in Somaliland .
After a research that I undertook to see what was the push factors behind that Exodus it all came to the conclusion of the government lack of agendas to create employment opportunities for the youth or a strategic plan to tackle the increasing numbers of unemployment crisis that augmented.
The other thing is the widespread of corruption with in every institutions in the country if that is governmental, private, International NGOs and Local NGOs that every single day advertises new job positions in the news papers which always results to the deceptions of an unfair corrupted ways which they are so famous to always select the unsuitable ones for the advertised job positions.
This is not a new thing but has always existed, but Somalilanders are well known to always talk about it socially in the coffee shops by never taking the matter to the press and openly talk about it which is really bad that am really feeling proud to en-light it by addressing this topic publicly.
Somalilanders are the greatest people on earth no matter the difficulties and injustice they face never complain about it or organize a peaceful strikes by always being optimist and show an immense respect to their leaders.
But today one thing is for sure that the entire youth in the country are eager to make a change in the upcoming campaign because Kulmiye is known as “rubbish” and will never be trusted again.
Their incompetence of governing has been witnessed by the people that they regret to have voted for such party and that the people always praise Dahir Riyale Kahin quoting: “We had a government and leaders with rules and regulations, but unfortunately racism took us to vote for hyenas”.
Today the nation knows that they have made a mistake but will not repeat the same mistake. The youth have been deceived the most and the promised change remains just a fading promise. Their little freedom is in danger of DE-generating for the lack an absence of accountability related to governance obligation to report, explain and be answerable actions and decisions, to justify them in the case of eventual misconduct.
False hope took possession of our minds, made us go beyond the mark, and caused that we sacrifice a certain good for an uncertain better.
We all have been deceived by Kulmiye
