Which empires are you obsessed with?

For me, it would be the Assyrians and Persians.
As for Assyrians:
They were extremely cruel. Thousands of conqeured people were either beheaded, impaled or flayed.

The Persians were kind of gay compared to the cruelty of Assyrians but nevertless they were great administrators and skillful warriors.

I don't know about empires but dynsaty wise i would say the abbasids, they came to berbera somewhere in the 800's , and they exploited water from a mountain and built a small canal/pipe that extends to the city, today it is the life-line of berbera

I will go with Ancient Egyptian civilization, Han Dynasty and the Abbasid Caliphate, not because of their brutality but their inventions and artistic contributions to human civilization.



In terms of cruelty, I will go with the Mongols.

Ofcourse it was great muslim dynasty, laakiin i wouldnt put them in the top 10 list.

The greats lived under their rule 750-1250, where the greatest sheikhs and philosiphers and inventors of islam can be found.

They were the Nazis of their time,
superb skill in fighting, they adapted methods from everyone and improved on it.
they were the first in recorded history to have a general staff, and even an officer.

They were famous for building siege weapons, and the first to use cavalry extensively.

and just like the nazis they commited atrocities everywhere they went, all in the name of their god Assur.
and just like the nazis they did not have strategic insight and everyone ganged up on them and fuked them up so bad they nearly became extinct.

The Egyptian empire is interesting. But my ALL time favorite has got to be the Romans empire. Their ingenuity was amazing. They started the modern democratic governance- senate, mayors, etc etc---Their aquatics or water plumbing methods were amazing. Basically, I like their civilization knack-- the turks--and the Egyptians were the early civilization, yet--they never went far, hence the Romans being originals--set models for modern governance. The romans also took a lot f inventions from the turks, like better ship building and engineering--the problem with muslim ancient nation is the same problem with the modern muslim world; education, and progressive agendas is not in their radar. They live in tents and drink coffee for many centuries. Education and progress to them is something bizarre and hard work.


The British Empire is also -good- but the only use they brought was civilization to primitive Africans, but unfortunately, they also brought their class system and prejudices that they practiced in their land of aristocracy!
