Paving the way for more Kenyaati troops.

Post by zingii »

I don't mean to be an alarmist, but am afraid our cousins are paving the way for a nation that colonizes part of our land. I believe once they finish the yet to be constructed road, they would be able to easily deploy heavy equipments and armaments to the region. This road tells me they are there for the long run and won’t be leaving anytime soon. Our cousins need to realize that once they are done with, they would be tossed to the side. Take for example how they bluntly sidestepped the current government in regards to this road by not bothering to bring them on board. If they could pull such a stunt on a internationally recognized government, do you think you stand a chance aS rebel group?

Play the game and dont get played cousins, because if you end up getting played,
we get played as well.
African Development Bank may fund inter-state highway linking Kenya and Somalia

Sunday, November 11, 2012

NAIROBI (Xinhua) -- The African Development Bank (AfDB) is looking at the possibility of funding an inter-state highway that would link Kenya and its northeastern neighbor Somalia.

A statement issued after a meeting between Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki and visiting AfDB Group Dr. Donald Kaberuka in Nairobi said the duo discussed the possibility of the Bank funding an inter-state highway connecting Kenya to Somalia to accelerate post war reconstruction.

"President Kibaki thanked AfDB for its role in regional integration and continued financial support to the country’s development Agenda," said the statement, noting that Kibaki also lauded the regional bank for supporting the country’s development agenda.

During the talks, President Kibaki and Kaberuka reviewed the progress of the ongoing national and regional infrastructural projects funded by the Bank.

The president noted with appreciation that the continental Bank was currently financing 20 national and three regional projects to the tune of 1.65 billion U.S. dollars covering roads, water, agriculture, health and education sectors.

Among the projects supported by the Bank include upgrading of the Isiolo-Marsabit–Moyale road part of which is completed, Athi river-Namanga-Arusha road and the Nile Basin Power interconnection line that links the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda and Kenya.

"President Kibaki and Kaberuka also discussed the possibility of the Bank financing the rehabilitation of the Voi-Taveta and Eldoret-Timboroa roads that requires attention," the statement said.

Kaberuka who is in the country to witness the commissioning of the 362 million dollar Nairobi-Thika Super-highway partly financed by his Bank, hailed Kenya’s contribution to the prevailing peace in Somalia and regional integration.

President Kibaki will officially open the 8-lane highway which originates from Nairobi and has links to Moyale at the Kenya- Ethiopia border on Friday.

The highway is the first of its kind in the region and it sets the pace for development in Kenya. Analysts say that other road improvements will help Kenya serve the East African Community bloc’s 130 million residents more efficiently.

The highway is supported by two by-passes, the Eastern Bypass that connects it to another highway known as Mombasa Road, and the Northern Bypass also connecting it to another highway known as Waiyaki Way.

All the three form the trio of arteries that service large motor traffic to, from and through the heart of the Nairobi Business District.

The road transport is the predominant mode of transport and carries about 93 percent of all cargo and passenger traffic in the country.

Kenya is racing to be a preferred business destination for locals and foreigners as part of its strategy to become a middle income country by 2030.

There is no need for name callings, but believe me when i do say this, you could use a good slap back to reality.
Stop seeing me as a clan and view me as a fellow citizen.
The difference between you and me is that i see whats unfolding whereby you dont.

Stop being defensive and see if there is possiblity of what i think is their motive.

I don`t see what all the fuss is about.
Surely a new road linking neighbouring countries can only be a positive development.

It will help facilitate trade and increase market accessibility of both countries.
At present all road transport between the countries is halted during the rainy season, costing millions to their economies.

Why is every positive development in Jubbaland met with irrational paranoia? :D  :som:

Worry about the Ethiopians who are illegally in Somalia and have been for decades not the country where Somalis are thriving and excelling in all aspects of life. Kenya has a mandate in Somalia and they will leave when the U.N no longer funds the mission.

Kenya is planning a high-way connecting north-eastern and Somalia, this is infrastructure investment to boost economic co-operation for both countries not some loony conspiracy to occupy Somalia.A Kenyan University is also planning to open a branch will this serve as a secret Kenyan intelligence base as-well? All this shows is that Kenya actually wants to revive Somalia from this abyss.

Unfortunately, our Hawiye brothers seem to be stuck in a 1990s time warp.

Every year that you engaged in fratricide, a little bit of Somali sovereignty was lost.
This didn`t happen overnight, but incrementally over more than two decades.

We have long ago arrived at the point where Somalia has lost its sovereignty/dignity.
In order for Somalia to regain its sovereignty the petty tribalism must end.
Moreover, areas of the country where peace, security and governance have been established must be allowed to move forward, without the dead weight of Xamar around their necks.

Jubbaland is on the right path to peace and prosperity for all its inhabitants.
While Xamar/central regions harbour political spoilers and terrorist groups.

The days where every region was on hold due to instability in Xamar, are long gone.
If the Hawiye fail to get their house in order, it will be to the detriment of their own people and nobody else. :D  :som:

My antennas are solely raise simply because of what the reality on the ground is. Why start developmental projects without having a functioning administration in place? Why consult African Development Bank and not the people who own the land?

After you answer the two questions in a reasonable manner, the image you get is that of an invading force. The road is a means of funding their men on the ground in the most cost efficient way.

Kenyans wanting to occupy? If anything, you should worry about the news agency that wrote that article. They're the ones buying lands throughout Africa and not some bantus country that needs the aids of western countries.Heck, I wouldn't be surprise if this idea was propose by them (Chinese).

Firstly, the road project hasn`t started, its at the very beginning of the proposal stage.
There will have to be feasibility studies, environmental impact studies, consultation with local stakeholders etc etc.
Major projects don`t happen overnight, they`re years in the making.

Moreover, you should realise that a road connection with Somalia only needs to reach the border, thats why its called a connection.
I can`t see the Kenyans building roads within Somalia, do you?

What a lot of people are beginning to realise is the enormous potential of J/Land.
With close proximity to the largest economy in East Africa, huge water resources, fertile land etc, the region is set to boom.
This is what really pains all the fake nationalists, another region of Somalia leaving them behind. :D  :som:
