Somalia should practice isolationism in 21st century

Post by herndonhomer »

From 1641-1843 japan disallowed contact with foreign countries. during this time, japan enjoyed peace for one of the longest times in history and developed thriving cities and booming agriculture that could feed the population. Similar policy could help somalia in several ways.
1. not allow different factions advantages through arms sale from foreign countries
2. allow our culture to develop on its own without foreign influence.
3. Avoid issues of sovereignty with other nations

At first this may seem unrealistic and impractical, but I contend that if siyaad barre instilled this practice in 1969 all somalinet users would be living in somalia right now and leading happy lives :)
