Hypothetical Scenario

Post by Twist »

Let's say you happened to visit a house of someone you know, not a friend or someone of your age, but someone older & you have respect for. What I mean the last part of the first statement is, he/she is not like someone you can just joke with like your close friends. This person is like, for example, an older uncle/aunty, a teacher, family friend etc.

So now this is the scenario. While you're at their place (no matter how you ended up there) they asked if you want eat something & you just simply said OK. They went to the kitchen, which is just next to the sitting room, and they started making/cooking food & at the same chatting with you from the kitchen. While they were preparing the food, you heard the person sneezing an open sneeze, i.e. the sound of it told you they didn't cover their mouth and nose with their hand or anything. In a minute or so they came to the sitting room with a plate of smoking food.

What will you do? Will you just tell yourself not to get paranoid and as they're/seem adult, responsible person they made sure they didn't sneeze on the food & go on and eat it? Or, you're one of those easily disgusted people & come up with an excuse? If you will come up with an excuse, what will you say?

Remember as I said above, they're not like a colleague/a close friend that you can just simply say to, "WTF man! Why did you sneeze on the food? I aint eating that shit". You respect this person, plus you already accepted their hospitality.

LOL @ waan ka dhargilahaa kadib baana xasuusanlahaa wixii dhacay.

Ina aadanow, midda aan meesha ku qoray ima qabsan balse waxyaabo badan oo yaq-yaqsi badan horay waan ula kulmay, marar badan waan ka baxsaday, balse mar iyo laba oo aan ka baxsan waayay wey jireen. But nothing like in the scenario.

PS: As long as the food is made by a hot chick I don't mind.

kkkkkkkkkkkkkkk you're crazy. The person could have turned away from the food while sneezing. No sane person just sneezes on food. Even if the person did, its not going to kill you. Worst thing that can happen, 1% chance, is that you get a nasty cold that will last you a few days. I say eat it.

You should have worried about other things. I've seen some one who was making baasto once. He went to the washroom for a long time and when he came out, I saw his hands were really dry. I looked at his shirt if he wiped it on there but no he didn't. I looked at his shirt because there was no paper towels in the washroom to dry his hands. Therefore, he didn't wash his hands after taking a dump. He then went to the baasto, walaaqed it with his hands after draining and licked his fingers after tasting the suugo and then gave people the food. I said noooooo way, no Hepatitis A for me.

Xigmad wanaagsan oo ku haboon nolosha maanta, khaasatan dadka iskaabulada ah. But I have got a long way to go to get rid of my paranoia.

Damn! That's one of the reasons why I am paranoid when it comes to food prepared by other people.

^ Daadi, I think most of us will do the same thing, though it's likely I'll replay it in my head over and over for a while that's what kills me.

I am easily disgusted and with food, I am very picky. More picky than I am with women. No matter how pretty she's, if she ain't on top of her hygiene game then I ain't tasting that at all. But just to be polite, I'd probably say something like "I am allergic to this" since you haven't told them what you would and would not eat. That's assuming I am dealing with a female. If it were a guy, it'd be easier.
