WHEN ALL OTHER ROYALS HAVE BECOME IRRELEVANT? WHY IS ENGLAND DIFFERENT? WE HAVE THE ENGLISH ROYAL FAMILY TREATED AS MAJOR CELEBRITY, WHILE OTHER EUROPEAN ROYALS WALK THE STREETS OF NEW YORK AS TOURISTS, DATING LOCAL BAR DHI.LOS AND HAVING A NORMAL GOOD LIFE. WHILE PRINCE WILLIAN CANT EVEN SHAKE A SHI!T WITHOUT A HIDDEN CAMERA IN THE TOILET SEAT. WHAT MAKES THE ENGLISH SPECIAL AND EXCEPTIONAL? IS IT THEIR FORMER EMPERIALISM? IS IT THE NASAABNIIMO OF AN ENGLISH BLOOD? IS IT KING HENRY 8TH ENGLAND? IS IT DIANA? HER KIDS? WHAT? I AM PLEASANTLY PUZZLED.

To sum it all up I would have to say its because they are the only (real) royal family that made it, and the only reason that they survived until today and still hold all these prestige titles is because they did a smart move back in the 15th/16th century when they gave up all their power to the parliament and chose to be nothing more then a symbol or some sort of an identity of their country.

The only royal family that could have rival them were the Romanov dynasty Tsars of russia, the rest are no different then those idiots you'll find in the middle east or asia

Yep, I think u have a point. The relinquishing of power gave them the safety, otherwise they would have turned out like the French monarchy with the revolution.

yea they might have given up all their power, only to pass it on to their most loyal subjects (you know the toffs/conservatives) who profited from all the wealth the empire accumulated from their colonial pasts and until today who control 2/3 of that countries wealth and land.
