Somali Prime Minister Abdi Farah Shirdon met informally with citizens at a Mogadishu café on Saturday (December 8th), Somalia's Shabelle Media Network reported.
Shirdon joined patrons at the café unannounced to hear their concerns and answer their questions about security, recently dismantled illegal checkpoints and the government's authority in Somalia as a whole.
"It is not always the government that is targeted with menace but it is the people, the civilians who suffer most," Shirdon said. "The people should give full support to the government so that we can win over those few who are the spoilers, the anarchists who hide within the population to commit their evil."
Shirdon also toured areas of Mogadishu recently cleared of illegal checkpoints, accompanied by Minister of Interior and National Security Abdikarim Hussein Guled.. He praised the security services for making the city's roadways passable.
