Today I am off work right, so I said to myself lets clean the house before my wife and my step sons come home. While hoovering the living room, I saw this CD on the floor. On the CD was a text saying, 'Somalia 1984 - Magool'. Thats the same year I was born. So I put the CD on and the first song was one of those songs with the Somali guitarr. The guitarr and the female voice just exploded from the stereo and with our surround sound system. Her voice just kept on hitting me from every angle. The most angelic voice, it must of been in her younger days. Waallahay I fell to the floor, waan iska oohyay.

I did not feel sad but all the emotions that this song brought to the surface aa iga oohiyay. You must understand I left Somalia when I was 2 and have very vague memories from that time but when this song hit me, I could feel the presence of the motherland.


I cried because of her voice and the love I got for my country and this song remind me very much of my country.
