Do you know what has happened to Somalia's wild life? Is there still wild life around?
The wildlife still exists but major predators like Lion and leopard are wiped out. You may find lion in southern Somalia on the border with Kenya and in the Somali region of Etiopia. Antilopes are also extinct in some parts. The same thing with Rhinos, Elephants, Giraffes.
The Siyaad Barre administration were actually planning a national reserve in late 80 but the civil war broke out and people destroyed many habitats. Sanaag mountain range was protected by Siyaad Barre administration and they nationalised the frankincense trade inorder to protect the trees and the enviroment. Today frankincense in northern Somalia has no value and people are exploiting the trees and you more you harvest from a tree, then the seeds of that tree will become bad and it will not reproduce. Somali are crazy people. If we kill eachother like it is nothing, we definitely will not spare animal.
