What's the latest news on the Jubbaland issue? The conference was suppose to begin this december. Are we on the same page of focusing on freeing Jubbaland from Shabab before any serious fighting goes on? Also, how do you plan to keep the government out of it, or is your policy of excluding Xamar going to change? Updates.

What update? Kamboni totally failed. Their political capital has been exhausted and even while going on, Beesha Sade has gotten exactly what it wanted; the Jubbaland conference has been post-poned until the full land is liberated, a new working relationship in Kismaayo has been rearranged, and the conditions of the process have been open to negotiation.

The Prime Minister and the Commander of the Army will soon visit Kismaayo and Garbahaaray to reward the Kenyan show of professionalism in AMISOM conduct (read: stopped taking sides).

How has Ras Kamboni failed when they've extended their 20 day agreed rotation into a permanent one? Ras Kamboni roams around every inch of the city at will and has full Kenyan backing. People would have taken you guys more seriously if you managed to take up your administrative role after the 20 day rotation instead of being punked.

From my understanding the situation on the ground is as follows:

1. there is one group which is trying to move the region forward, bring lasting peace and stability to it, is willing to have an all inclusive administration and has the trust of regional heavyweights to do so.
2. there is another group which has a "my way or the highway" stance, is ready to go to war and keep the 90s mentality and is quite simply downright selfish. This group wishes to destabilize the whole region and start an inter-clan warfare however the first group is too smart to let it happen and will simply let them remain on the fence.
