Is there a tribe called magaado ? because i think i just met they new elected sultan today .

think they are an ancient somali tribe who reside in Sanaag, don't know where they came from or where they originate from though. Their Suldaan visited Hargeysa two years ago.

Now here is my question, the woman (Magaado) who gave birth to Awal, Garxajis, Ayuub and Arab called the "bah magaado". Was her name simply Magaado hence those four are called "bah magaado" or did or did she descend from this paticular tribe called "magaado" hence "bah magaado".

my uncle told me her tribe was named magaado it wasn't her name when Sheik Issaq come to somalia i think he landed in sanaag and marry a woman from the local tribe called magaado hence the name .

I heard they are one of many old somali clans who don't fall under a larger group e.g. akisho, madigan, magadle, daarjire etc.

They are a small group who live with the HY in Sanaag. Their king Boqor Maxamud Sh Cismaan Nuur (Timacadde) was crowned in Ceerigaabo back in 2010.

Now that the Isaaq outnumber them they live among us and even durng the civil war they sided with the Isaaq whereas the Ugayslabe/Muxumed sided with the Daarood, the Jabraahiil which sometimes claim to be Ogaadeen and live among the H.Y also stayed nuetral and refuse to aid the Daarood.
