Do you actively plan your life? Does doing so simplify things?
Truthfully im not much of a planner but Inshallah ima change that.

On a seperate subject here's an open question about marriage v.s career/ further education or self employment.
Is it better to et married first and then persue other things. Or is it better to get married first and lso protect yourself from haram temptions even if that means an opportunity cost of education/career because of th new responsibilities.

Re: The Live Life Thread
I prefer to live my life off the beaten track. I would hate to be stuck in an office for the next 40 years
I work from project to project. The worst thing about life is wasting your talent in an office when others claim your hard work for themselves and the chances of becoming the real boss are non existent.
Work is 50% of life...your parents, their siblings and your immediate family (kids, spouse) are the other 50% and they only want two things from you...money/security and your time. So work hard on earning money and spend quality time with family.

Re: The Live Life Thread
GedoGirl ive realised over the past few weeks that life if fragile and short lived. It passes you by before you realise whats happening because we are so focussed on work/bills/education/worldly auccess. In the end you ask yourself was it worth it?gedo_gurl wrote:I prefer to live my life off the beaten track. I would hate to be stuck in an office for the next 40 years![]()

The real meanings of life such as cibadah, helpin people, family etc. go out the window. Personally i was/am so focussed on success/education/work that ive just realised i miasing out on doing the things I really want to be doing. Ive let worldy success own me time. Thruthfully you will spend more time at work being a cog in a wheel than with family members/enjoying life/persuing inyerests.

I don't know about you but to me, Live is going to work in the morning, coming home in the afternoon to play with kids while xaajiyada is cooking casho. The best part of life is when My daughter and I are watching bill cosby show together while the two young ones are fighting over stuff whole the time.

Cilmi,
You're right! You should always make time for family but also other stuff. You're only young once so do all that fun stuff like climbing a mountain, seeing the pyramids, walk on hot coals, see Machu Pichu....Of course cibaada is important but its easier to fit into life. Prayer breaks, saving for Hajj, donating to charity...its easier than anything else and takes no time at all.

Although its early days yet, I completely agree with Barakaboy. Now i've completely changed my outlook (plan) of what I wanted to do.barakaboy10 wrote:
they told me to go to college and i will make a lot of money. bulshit! i went to college and i got a degree but nothing is working the way i imagined!
having experience is more important than having a college degree, i finally found out. i wish i worked all those years that i spent in college. now everybody is a head of me in terms of financial stability.

Re: The Live Life Thread
honesty, ii dont plan anything. only thing i plan is my prayers. i need to plan in worldly too.
but i dont know, what people consider fun is not fun to me, like travelling, friends, gathering etc.
after long day working or school, i like to come my room. quite and do me time with God.
