can all awdalites get the djboutian nationality?

i have seen some reer borama families who were djboutians. some of them were from xamar and never been into djbouti or borama before the civil war. does that mean any dir can get the djboutian nationality? the djboutian passport is better than the somali one and it use to be useful for using it as a khad or line in many coutries like greek and egypt.

its harder to get a DJI passport now ever since the US went over ... either ur mom or dad have to nationality .. through marriage now you have to have a child before you are given papers ...

No. at one point the Djiboutian "citizenship" was almost for sale , that's prolly how they got it .

No! it was not possible to get djibouti ID until somewhere around 2003 when they allowed all people with djibouti mothers to have djibouti p.port. and thats how i got it.
The Gadabursi that have djiboti nationality are mostly native djiboutians, only few of them got it through their mothers. The Ciise clan are the only somalis that can get djibouti nationality unconditionally.

Well traditionally the ciise who came to Djibouti either from Ethiopia or Somaliland first of all had a relative there after the independence . That relative knows somebody who will ask a favor another person who can deliver him a "carte d'identite" {ID}. I think it used to be called "service de la population" or something like that
Fast forward to the early 90's when the Cisse clan found themselves challenged by an afar insurgency they immediately called on their clansmen in Ethiopia or Somaliland to come fight for them . They were called the " mobilisés" , most of them from Ethiopia . That's when Dj started giving out djiboutian "citizenship " to a whole lot of Issa soldiers and civilians who were born outside of DJ territory . Anyway it is as good as toilet paper in my eyes

It is very useful in Djibouti and arabian Gulf states.. specially for jobs and college/Uni scholarships. Somali passport wont get u anywhere.
My bro got FULL scholarship in Qatar uni but he missed it since he had no ielts back then, later on he got another full scholarship in Oman. they pay good!
