Is this the end of the road for S/l?

Post by original dervish »

After 21 years of self declared independence, the secessionists in Hargeisa are beginning to consider other alternatives.
It has become clear, even to the most fanatical secessionists, that the international community will never bestow upon s/l its holy grail....recognition.

There is talk of a federation between north and south, as a way out for the stalled talks.
Others have suggested that s/l should not enter into a dialogue with the south.

The pragmatic among their number realise the status quo cannot continue.
Could we be witnessing the death of a long held dream to destroy our beloved Rep of Somalia? :D :sland:

Believe it or not, I bear no malice and ill will towards the iidoor.
My position has always been against secessionism.

The secessionists have successfully implanted into the minds of their people, that to be against secessionism is to be against iidoors.
This political con trick is what the zionists have long mastered.

There are many among their number who rightly believe preserving the status quo is not an option.
It will be interesting to see if these pragmatic iidoor are able to break cover, and make the case for unity.
The Federal Govt must take steps to strengthen the position of unionists in the north. :som:

You're giving this whole 'somaliland' project way too much credit. What does North and South have to do with Somaliland? Somaliland is a Isaaq project, supported by Isaaq tribes within Isaaq tribal territories in the North. If I remind you, when the British colonials left in 1960, they didn't place Isaaq or any other tribe as the sole, legitimate authority over the former British-Somaliland protectorate.

So, before we talk about the Secessionists, we need to ask ourselves what is Somaliland?

but the isaaq will not contemplate a darood federal project that gives them an unfair advantage, what is required is a decentralised unitary state of 18 regions with a strong centre in the capital
ps its wrong to say s/l is an isaaq project when not every isaaq supports separation likewise not every non-isaaq support unity!

nigga are you nuts?......no Somali will ever again accept to be dictated to from Xamar.
The only viable alternative is federalism.

Do really expect the iidoors to go from self declared independence to Xamar choosing their leaders? :D

somalia should have the federalism of india with 18 regions that CANNOT merge with one another, each region should have a dual headed executive (one indirectly elected, the other appointed by centre)
