Stop calling everyone in South of Somaliland Reer Xamar. Its Reer Konfureed to be correct. Reer Xamar are the Cad Cads of Muqdisho or even a local can pass for a Reer Xamar technically speaking. Its wrong for me to call all Somalilanders Reer Hargeysa cause that just wont make sense. Get it? Thanks in advance!

Never heard of anyone calling Hargaysood. Southerners always refer to Northerners as Reer Waqooyi. I have lots of Reer Waqooyi family members but they never use the Reer Xamar tag....then I went to London last year and si many people were calling me Reer Xamar. After two weeks of saying IM NOT REER XAMAR I found out they classified everyone south of Somaliland as a Reer Xamar.

Reer Xamar are the natives of the city of Muqdisho. They are the Xamar Cad who have lived there more than 1200 years. I never heard of any reer waqooyi calling southerners reer xamar. We call you Walaweyn and that comes from the early 1960s.

in somaliland they call southerners reer koonfur, but in the west like UK we call them reer xamar. not because of clan but because every somali has mogadishu as his place of birth on his passport.
