Charging for what's supposed to be free.

Post by SiennaEarth »

Things such as Ruqya, teaching the Quran, Hijama etc.. These people charge for it nowadays. You're not supposed to charge people for these services. The sahabas never did it. These people use excuses such as I need the money to feed my family. Things such as Ruqya and Hijama work best when you're doing for the sake of Allah to help the individual. In Saudi most of the sheikhs don't charge for Ruqya but some people have made Islam a money making business.

The Sunnah does. The prophet (saw) and the Sahaba never charged for these and encouraged people to do it free especially Ruqya. The person is suffering from Jin possession and these people tell you to pay cash upfront before they can help you. Common? For real? Subhan'Allah.

I don't know if its true, but i heard that even though a lot of people do it you are not allowed to charge money for zamzam water. Charging money for ruqiya is mostly problematic back home where poor people are forced to sell their sheep/goats/camels/cattle so they can cure themselves or a family member, it's sad and plus no one says anything about it really.

you have a point, but again it depends though for instance if the person dedicated quran teaching service for say mon-fri about 5hrs a day (am sure this aint the case in diaspora) then by all means charging for his service is justifiable if he has no other means of supporting himself

that depends on where it is for example, back home where there are frequent droughts and they pay for the water they drink (unless they own a well or berkad) then they are entitled to charge money for water i guess but they still don't do it

Wen it comes to the ruqiya u hve to give the person something for reading the ruqiya.. Nabiga scw cure a boy that wad possed by a jiin the family offered nabiga two lambs he only took one .. So its exceptable to give someone that reads quran on u a payment. . Its just the UK ones charge too much and if someone is really sick bck home is a Better option whr ruqiya and towbiid is cheaper.

On them, most of the time when people need ruqya it's for jiin issues and when you have jiin issues you can't read it on yourself as you are not in the right state of mind.
