Shot fired: Baidoa joins Kismayo on State vs. Fed govt issue
The speaker of parliament who is acting president signed a decree from Ministry of Interior that changed the Baidoa regional government. The Governor of Bay went on VOA and said the federal government has no power to interfere in Bay politics and that he was chosen by the locals and only they can remove him. He stresses his administration is still in effect and the Federal government should respect the federal constitution.

Its not Baidoa joining Kismayo, D&M aren't making noises. Its just one man shouting and the decree was signed by Prof Jawaari a respected elder, intellectual and statesman who is himself D&M and the acting head of state in the absence of the President.

We have seen it all before; sour nicca screams and shouts on VOA/BBC then quietly surrenders. Typical day in maryoley life.Somalifanatic wrote:Its not Baidoa joining Kismayo, D&M aren't making noises. This is an effort to undermine the BayGedo State of Somalia. This move is to ensure Gedo, a diverse region is thrown into the Darood project called Jubbaland which sidelines the majority NonDarood population of the Lower and Middle Jubba, and Gedo.

Without having all the facts to hand......If he was chosen by the locals, what right does the speaker have to overide the wishes of the local people?
I`m totally against the Federal Govt interfering in the local politics of the various regions.
