Faysal Waraabe "Somaliland not attending London Conference

Faysal Waraabe, most well known leader of the opposition party UCID remarks on Somaliland's position on the London conference on Somalia this may. He cites that they (Somaliland) will not be part of any meeting where Somalia will lead. Mr Waraabe does not of course speak for the Somaliland government, but he can give us some insight onto what is the general mood of Somaliland. As of yet, there is no official word from the Somaliland government if they shall attend or not.

I for one will support Somaliland if they do wish to pursue such policies. After all, attending the convention is tantamount to them renegading on their pursuit of recognition. This is especially so since Somalia will co-head the convention with the British. Somaliland must make a stand, and give us a good show. We don't want them coming around so easily, and so soon. Mr President Siilaanyo, you must heed the right and honorable advice of Mr Hyena.

Opposition have more flexible to speak than the ruling Party which will be held accountable. He could also wish to profit from the people's frustration at the expense of the ruling platform. Siilaanyo and the ruling men will be there simply because they have no other option.

I am glad he sees that this meeing will be the first in which the Somali government is viewed as a sovereign bilateral partner and will not be accorded equal status to regional governments as happened under dual track.

S/l have no other option, they`ve boxed themselves in after 22 years of failed secessionist policies.

yes for eventually negotiating with Somalia , but we're ... I mean Somalia is not there yet .
Like I said here before , just as Cameron wants to reform Europe , I want a reformed Somalia , {multi tribal }
There is not a single functioning multi tribal state in Somalia today .
Just as cameron wants to put the issue before his people , we will eventually have to ask our own .
That's how democracies work , Somalia is not yet a democracy
