Gen Cali Madoobe holds press conference in Kismaayo

Gen Cali Madoobe is Marehan and the former Police Commissioner of Abdullahi Yusuf and Sheikh Sharif. He is also the former Somali ambassador to Tanzania. He is one of the leaders of the Jubbaland technical committee and a frontrunner for President of the state.



He held a press conference with Macalin Maxamed who is Ogaden and the deputy chairman of Ras Kambooni.

They held a press conference to announce that the Jubbaland Conference has been postponed for 5 days because of two reasons

1. To give time to the Garbahaaray Conference
2. To give a last chance to the Federal Government to participate

Here he speaks on the Federal Government's invitation and says if they do not respond the meeting will go on as planned and the government will have abdicated its responsibility under the constitution.

hold on a minute.....didn`t the Govt say they were gonna participate in the meeting earlier?

It is easy to say a lot of things when they were trying to present a good face but didn't think the process would get to this place. It's crunch timeonow because the eventuality has actually happened and they don't know what to do.

If the Garbahaaray conference is a success and a united voice emerges either Saciid Shirdoon personally gives blessing to the Kismaayo conference, resigns not being able to represent his constituency, or his clan publicly gives him a vote of no confidence.

I think when the Garbahaaray verdict comes in and publicly a united voice is raised to strengthen the Kismaayo initiative the government will be very pressured externally and internally to come to the meeting.

I'm loving the united work of Ogaden and Marehan. Their coordination of all events is truly impressive

Whatever the result of the election is, we must respect it as both these Houses as well as all clans from the region will get their share.
