Just spoke with Kismaayo on the phone: latest update

Post by The`Republic »

Not I of course but relatives did and the latest update concurs with almost all the news out there:

-Fight started with a man called Labo Garre (Marehan/Cali Dheere) when some Ras Kamboni abducted under being " Shabab" and it turned out he died from injuries sustained later
-Marehan attacked Kismaayo central prison and ran Ras Kamboni out of there
-Then fight got larger and spread in rest of Calanlay District
-Marehan totally removed them from the district
-Fighting then started to Faanoole and Farjanno districts with both sides getting back
-Ras Kamboni took serious hit and retreated from all of the town center
-More and more Marehan civilians rebrandished their weapons until Ras Kambonis leader left the entire city vacinity and are at Kismaayo Airport/AMISOM headquarters
-Latest the Marehan are still control of of the places fought over (Ras Kamboni lost their head of security) and there is peace being pushed by both the government and Kenya/AMISOM headquarters

Ina Aadan wallahi I am repeating what was said exactly by the officer in Kismaayo. That information doesn't even disagree wih wat 99% of the media said.

I support Jubbaland and I support good working relationship btw Marehan and Ogaden.

Do you even have people in Kismaayo? Do you even listen to BBC, VOA, Univesal TV etc? Do you even read international media Reuters, AFP etc?

Everybody but three Ogaden sites and two Majerten are saying the same thing.

Again dude we just spoke to Kismaayo less than 2 hours a go and that was the update. Ku lahaa propoganda or burcad yar. Ok.

Meesha dagaal kama dhicin

The trouble-makers numbering in the 20s attacked what was at the time a lightly guarded police headquarters, they were repelled and are now surrounded .Negotiations for their surrender are under-way.

Their are reports the head of security in Kismayo was injured after the ambush and the leader of the assailants has been killed.

Anything else is simply exaggerated by those attempting to derail the conference.

this minor episode needs to be brought to a satisfactory ending.
J/Land conference is far to important to be derailed by minor misunderstandings.

Yawn...Why I stopped following Somali politics it is a never ending cycle of the same bullshid.

2007 Marehan militias fight kablalax militias and remove them.
2008 Faarax Taano, Barre Hiiraale, Raadeer and all these guys fight over who will control
2009 Shabab comes and sends them all packing
2012 AMISOM comes
2013 Marehan, Ogaden militias fight with something almost identical happening to 2007, with a weak, pathetic Government in Mogadishu that cannot get inbetween all these clowns. What makes it more embarassing now is Kenyans are involved.

Forget all this 'Jubbaland' etc. bullshid.

The man who was arrested and tortured is my uncle. Some thieving moryaans (believed to be Ogaden) came to his house and robbed him off money he had in his house and arrested him. His two sons who protested his arrest and they were also arrested. My uncle was not involved in politics and made his money through business. I have not heard of him dying from his injuries.

Only a fool would believe a bunch of civilians can remove a trained faction from a whole city in a few hours. The level of disillusion from the usual disgruntled "my clan is purest" idiots is reaching new heights.
