Re: FG Interior Minister: no major conflict in Kismaayo
Eega, I can't begin to understand where they found this guy. This guy is the same guy who was asked a few days ago, if he knew anything about the Jubbaland conference about to happen in Kismaayo. He answered that he didn't know anything about, and that he just heard of it here and there (as opposed to officially). If I was the interview I would of asked him, as being the Interior minister of the Federal government of Somalia, how is it possible you are not well-aware of the biggest political movement happening now in Somalia?
It's obvious he was told to pack up and go home. There is no room for him to meddle with an internal K-city issue, and that it is being tackled and taken care of the people already there. I don't think his political facing-saving of underplaying the issue which would also underplay any role he could have should be interpreted as being something small and insignificant. Nevertheless, it could of been worse and longer, but Alhamdulilah it was not.

Re: FG Interior Minister: no major conflict in Kismaayo
His abrupt visit was politically motivated to take advantage of the reported conflict and push the FGs agenda however he found no conflict to resolve nor a break from the same reply served to previous FG representatives reaffirming to him that the Jubbaland conference was to go ahead as planned and that the Government was welcome to provide its input and facilitate the conference. The fact he claimed to have no knowledge of the conference a few days ago did not help him considering the issue has been lingering for an extended period as the source of friction between the Government and Jubbaland leaders.
The Government is scrambling now that the conference is edging closer, it needs to state clearly why it opposes the conference or respond to their invitation to take part.

We already know why the FG oppose the conference. Its for tribal reasons.
Having vanquished the daroods from Xamar and Banadir, these tribally motivated people don`t want to see daroods with any foothold in the south.
There are still quite a few twists and turns yet to come in this saga.
