The problem is not the meat but the fact that horses are being slaughtered illegally and meat thats not controlled end up in our food chain. Most of these horses without a doubt have been on heavy medication. Drugs like Phenylbutazone are very common when treating horses and that drug is cancerogenic. Horses that are supposed to be slaughtered must have a lifetime record of their medications because the treatment of horses that are supposed to end up as meat and other horses are very different.

Abdi ismail, horse meat is halal, but you can't eat it a lot, like making it a staple like goat or sheep.
