Is this a joke? :? How can militia's be intergarted into the national army? Isnt the government supposed to recruit and train its forces? I didnt know they randomly recruited miitias who are mostly criminals.

Meta-

It is a political act of unity. Ahlu Sunnah is a functioning and strong faction in central Somalia and the only authority for large parts of it. I am not even a Sufi myself by aqeedah but it is wrong to say they are former criminals. They are really not. They are just guys who felt their way of life under threat by the opposing ideology of Al Shababa. They organized and formed a multi-clan administration and capable militia. Now that administration and its militia has been incorporated into the Federal Government as a function of unity and legitimacy that there is a government in the land now.

I am more shocked by the fact that the government isnt putting in any genuine effort to establish and coordinate a national army. It is not dubious to anyone that these ahluh sunah are clan based militia and they have been armed for years. It is rediculous to suggest that they are not criminals. Their ideolgy is more politican than religious and you say they have picked up arms because they felt threatened by alshabab. How can men who were fighting for their respective clans yesterday be loyal to the nation and fight for it? What happens when there is a conflict of interest tomorrow? I would not be surprised if the government tried to incorporate AS into the army as well.
