My Mother was pregant in the 1980s in Xamar, so when she was walking outside in the city she sometimes got pain, the People living in Xamar was some of the most noble and most welcoming they always helped her inside their houses and even made food for her and tea, what a great people !

Some say our name 'Somali' came from the cultural respect we had for newcomers i.e. caanaha usoo maal. In the old Somalia you could have traveled from the Hawd to Marka without fear of being ransacked or harried. Jidgooyo was a myth even when the Arabs and Africans had such behaviour. That's how my mothers father trekked from Ceeldheer in the 30s to Xamar with his cattle. Good times.
